Munitions Response Services
Versar's Munitions Response Services (MRS) staff consists of professional engineers, registered geologists, project management professionals and former Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) technicians, and includes more than 50 fulltime unexploded ordnance (UXO) - qualified personnel. Versar employs Senior UXO Supervisors (SUXOS) who have earned the EOD Master Badge through experience and qualifications gained during their military service. Our personnel have the knowledge, equipment, and licensing to conduct demolition and demilitarization operations on a wide variety of domestic and foreign munitions. Versar’s MRS group is experienced in performing large and small scale munitions response services at projects within and outside the contiguous United States (CONUS and OCONUS).
Versar consultants have experience at two of the world’s largest range complexes and in munitions and explosives of concern (MEC) investigations and removals throughout the country for a variety of clients. We provide unconventional chemical munitions experience; an understanding of the environmental sensitivities of munitions response; and are supported by a comprehensive quality control and safety program. Our highly developed program provides cost effective solutions for all of your munitions response needs.
Supporting the World's Largest Ranges
Versar supports two of the world’s largest range complexes: the National Training Center (NTC) at Fort Irwin, CA (a site larger than Rhode Island) and the Nevada Test and Training Range (NTTR), where the Air Force tests the latest in aircraft technology. Versar UXO Technicians routinely perform operational range clearance; provide operations and maintenance services; and perform range sustainment services for both locations. These activities include target maintenance and managing the range residue recycling programs. Daily MEC clearance operations include the location, inspection, and disposal of live and inert training ordnance; hard targets; and target residue inspection.
Versar has also provided these services on active Navy and Marine Corps training ranges. We are proud of our ability to support the Department of Defense’s (DoD) training mission on active ranges.
