Associate Environmental Scientist/ Coordinator REQ# 09-933
Employment Status: Full Time
Location: Denver, CO
Responsibilities:
- Asbestos inspections
- Asbestos sample collection, including soil sampling, spill assessments, contaminant sampling, mold and other indoor air assessments and sampling
- Conducting clearance and perimeter air sampling for asbestos and mold projects
- Phase I Environmental Site Assessments
- Phase II drilling and excavation subsurface investigation management, soil logging and slug/ aquifer testing and tank site closure/ RCRA and/ or VCUP activity application and remedial experience
- Project management, budget tracking and field progress assessments experience
- Assistance in regulatory compliance
- Air and/ or Monitoring Well permitting
- Laboratory coordination, reporting and other field and office support task as needed
- Occasional travel will be required, primarily to adjacent states
Experience Requirements:
- 2 to 5+ years related experience developing required skills
Skills Requirements:
- Good decision-making skills and ability to work independently
- Coordinate and conduct oversight of field subcontractors
- Detailed documentation and reporting of site conditions
- Equipment/ instrument calibration and maintenance
- Sample handling and chain of custody procedures
- Working knowledge of blue prints/ drawings and construction specifications
- Strong communication skills and health and safety awareness
Education Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Science or Engineering (Professional Registrations Beneficial)
- Asbestos Building Inspector Certification (Mandatory)
- Asbestos Air Monitoring Certification (Beneficial)
- 40- hour HAZWOPER training (Beneficial)
