Enterprise Database Systems

An enterprise database is a large-scale system that connects and serves computers at locations throughout an organization. Versar has developed a cultural resources database for the Department of Defense known as MCRAD.

Currently under development for use by the US Air Force, the Military Cultural Resources Analysis Database (MCRAD) has the capacity to support the storage and retrieval of cultural resources data across DoD installations. It is a relational database implemented in Oracle with associated spatial data in shapefile (GIS) format. The MCRAD model is designed to store the full range of cultural resources types defined by Federal laws and regulations, to standardize data throughout the enterprise, and to allow for easy information managment and retrieval.
