Historical Research

Versar's staff conducts historical research in support of both archaeological and architectural history projects. The types of study conducted include deed and chain-of-title searches, historical map analyses, and review of existing regional and property-specific cultural resources investigations.

Versar's location in metropolitan Washington D.C. places researchers close to a range of important bibliographic sources, including the National Archives, the Library of Congress, and headquarters of the U.S. Geological Survey among others.

In addition, many state archives are now available for on-line searches. Effective use of digital resources can eliminate travel and reduce project costs.
