Cultural Resources Management
From archaeological sites, historic buildings and districts to archaeological collections, managing cultural resources assets creates a considerable challenge for installations and government agencies charged with the care of our nation’s cultural heritage. Versar offers in-depth experience and innovative approaches to help you achieve your cultural resources program goals.
Versar has prepared more than 60 integrated cultural resources management plans for federal installations of all sizes, as well as maintenance and treatment plans, programmatic agreements, and disaster preparedness plans. Versar has been working with the Air Force and with DoD for more than a decade to develop cultural resources data standards to help streamline management and reporting requirements. Versar's data standards efforts helped form the core of the cultural resources portion of DoD's spatial data standards for facilities, infrastructure, and environment. Versar is participating in the Federal Geographic Data Committee initiative to prepare cultural resources data transfer standards. We also have experience in the rehabilitation of archaeological collections to meet the requirements of 36 CFR 79. The breadth of our experience means we are able to address a wide range of resource types and management requirements.
